Passivity Is A Faith Killer

God gave us the power to control our destinies. He has told us what the right choices are in Deuteronomy 30:19 “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!” God is sovereign, but that does not mean He controls everything in our lives.
This is a faith killer: Believing that God controls everything! That belief renders a person passive and incapable of fulfilling their destiny. It makes one accept whatever happens, so let it be. No, it is a lie that causes one to become powerless and bankrupt of faith in God.
We are the one doing the driving, not Jesus! It is up to us to take directions from the Lord, but He doesn’t do the driving for us. We have been given the authority over our own life and will succeed if we obey His instructions. In some instances, it is our wrong choices that bring disaster upon us.
Come out of the pit of passivity, read the Bible and pray consistently for the express will of God to be revealed. Choose to follow His plans and bring on the scene His best as stated in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
