The Greek word translated “courage” and “good cheer” to literally mean “boldness and confidence.”
When God commands us to fear not, to be of good cheer, and to have courage, He is always commanding against fear, which is the opposite of courage. You will struggle when you lack confidence in who God is and knowing His will. When your prayers are in line with God’s Word, it will bring into manifestation God results – His promises! Know that He already factored into His plans for you, everything you will need to overcome and be successful! You are precious and loved unconditionally by God who will go through extreme lengths to make sure you will prevail concerning all issues and challenges that the enemy may throw at you.
Let’s look at the word that best describes the opposite of courage.
“Coward” in Revelations 21:18 is translated “fearfulness and timidity.” The dictionary also defines coward as someone who lacks the courage to do difficult, dangerous, or unpleasant things. A coward consciously shies away from unpleasant situations, doing whatever he or she can to save their own skin—enslaving them to fear.
I declare that you will rise to a greater level of faith and authority in God and break through the resistances against your destiny!
Take time to read, meditate and pray using the recommended scriptures below.
“…but the righteous are as bold as a lion.” (Proverbs 28:1)
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
God said, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” (Deuteronomy 31:8)
Jesus told the disciples to “Have faith in God” (Mathew 11:22)
Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. (Mark 11:23)
